5-minute morning ritual: my tips for starting the day right

You don't always have an hour to spare when you wake up, and good news: you don't need to. In 5 minutes, I'll teach you how to set an intention, awaken your body and mind, and completely transform your day's energy.

Here's my express morning ritual: simple, grounded, and holistic, accompanied by my favorite Sentara Holistic products.

My 5-Step Morning Ritual

Minute 1: Grounding & Conscious Breathing

Before you even look at your phone, place your feet on the floor. Inhale deeply through your nose for 4 seconds, hold for 2 seconds, then slowly exhale through your mouth for 6 seconds. Repeat 3 times.

I add a drop of relaxing essential oil to the palms of my hands to amplify the grounding effect.

Minute 2: Sensory Awakening with Essential Oils

“Today, I choose fluidity.
Today, I choose joy.”

Minute 5: Micro-Journaling

Write one sentence in a notebook:

  • A gratitude

  • An intention

  • A present emotion

No need to write a lot; regularity is more powerful than quantity.
